6 km from Mahabaleshwar Bus Stand, 116 km from Pune & 252 km from Mumbai, Lingmala Waterfall, one of the finest places to visit in Mahabaleshwar, is situated at top of the Venna Valley in Satara region of Maharashtra. It is one of the well-known tourist places near Pune in monsoon and also one of the prominent waterfalls in Maharashtra.
Located at an altitude of 1278 m, Lingmala Waterfall is framed by Venna River. Two waterfalls are there one mini waterfall and the main waterfall which falls from a height of 500 feet. The mini waterfall is harmless & appropriate for swimming and playing in the water. One has to walk for 30 minutes to go to the viewpoint of the main waterfall from the mini.
Lingmala Waterfall is visited by thousands of tourists consistently as it is one of the topmost Maharashtra traveler places. The waterfall is located on the right-hand side of the road while traveling from Mahabaleshwar to Panchgani. There is a little signboard signifying the directions to the waterfall. You have to take a left turn on a thin road from the signboard. Drive for about 10 minutes and reach the arrival of the falls. From the gate, you have to walk for 1.5 km to go to the smaller waterfall and 2.5 km to reach the main waterfall. There are a lot of stairs on the way to the lower deck, so the trek can be somewhat tiring, however, the route and the views are absolutely justified. It takes around 30 minutes from the entrance to reach the lower waterfall.
